Reducing the size of the OST file may help you to improve performance if you have deleted a large number of items from the OST file.
Follow below mentioned procedure to reduce the size of OST file, as using this procedure items that are saved on the server do not get deleted:
* Delete any item that you do not want to keep, and then empty the Deleted Items folder.
* On the Tools menu, click Account Settings.
* In the list, select Microsoft Exchange Server, and then click Change.
* Click More Settings.
* Click the Advanced tab, and then click Offline Folder File Settings.
