How to determine whether the offline folder is being synchronized

Later when you connect to network connection, the OST data can be synchronized easily. However, it is important to ensure here that the data is being synchronized while you connect to the network.
OST files have great significance when there is a need to work offline. OST file needs to be synchronized with Exchange server mailbox to update the changes made offline. Sometimes, when you try to synchronize the OST file with Exchange server, you may face various issues. However these issues may get resolved but even after resolving those issues and accomplishing synchronization process, you may fail to determine whether the OST file is being synchronized or not.
This article will describe the steps that you need to perform for determining synchronization of an OST file with Exchange server mailbox. Just follow the below mentioned steps to know the synchronization status:
* Right-click the folder that you want to verify, and then click Properties.
* Click the Synchronization tab. If you do not see the Synchronization tab, you did not set up your profile to use offline folders.
* Under Statistics for this folder, verify the settings in the following fields:
Last Synchronized on: Date
Server folder contains: # Items
Offline folder contains: # Items
If you find that the server folder items and offline folder items are same, then it is for sure that the synchronization is working. But if the items contained in server folder and Offline folder are not same then synchronization is not working. In such a situation, you will need to check the profile settings.
Synchronization can also fail due to Exchange account deletion and in such situation the OST file becomes unusable.
